Thursday on Lakers.com, I’ll be posting a 1-on-1 podcast with Gasol in which we chat about the culture of his city of birth, Barcelona, as well as the club that first signed him as a 16-year-old (Regal F.C. Barcelona). While Pau’s always quite pleasant in interviews, he brightens up just a bit more when speaking about Barcelona (should you have had the blessing to travel to Barcelona, you know why).
Gasol first played with Barcelona’s youth team, where the best player was his current best friend, Juan Carlos Navarro, who joined Gasol with the Memphis Grizzlies last season before heading back to Spain for the coming season.
