Kobe Named Player of the Week

Kobe Bryant has been named Western Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, Jan. 7 through Sunday, Jan. 13.

Bryant helped the Lakers to a 4-0 week, which included wins over the Hornets, Bucks and the Grizzlies twice. Bryant averaged 29.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 3.5 steals on the week. Closing the week with back-to-back 37-point performances, Bryant upped his season average to 27.0 ppg, second best in the NBA to LeBron James’ 29.1 ppg. The Lakers are riding a six-game winning streak and at 25-11, they own the second best record in the Pacific Division and the third best record in the Western Conference.
